About the project

"Polaroids Of Folk That Make Music", by James Perou, is a long-term photography project born from a passion for live music and a deep-seated addiction to Polaroid film. Starting in 2007, the project features over 3000 unique Polaroid portraits of musicians, captured backstage at venues, with a (mostly) strict "one person per Polaroid" rule. The series embraces the unique, unrepeatable nature of instant film, capturing authentic reactions without direction.
